Science-led agronomy and AI decision support for vertical farms & greenhouses

Crop Urbanis combines controlled-environment agriculture expertise, field-tested protocols and AI/data tools to help teams design, launch and optimise vertical farms and hydroponic greenhouses.

Alongside consulting, training and research, Crop Urbanis is developing a pilot-ready decision-support product that structures project data, crop protocols, SOPs, KPI tracking and operational knowledge into expert-reviewed AI-assisted workflows.

Crop Urbanis

Agritech for controlled-environment agriculture

Led by Ilia Sukhodolov — plant scientist and international consultant based in Paris, with projects across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, North America and Asia.

Technology in development

Crop Urbanis is productising repeated agronomic workflows into a controlled-environment agriculture decision-support product. The platform connects project data, greenhouse operating parameters, crop protocols, SOPs, KPI dashboards and AI-assisted knowledge retrieval so teams can move from feasibility to operation with clearer assumptions and measurable feedback loops.

Pilot

Project-data structuring

Site layouts, utility capacity, crop targets, budgets, regulatory constraints and yield history are transformed into reusable data models for feasibility and operational planning.

Live

Expert-reviewed AI support

AI supports agronomic knowledge retrieval, SOP updates, multilingual training material and diagnostics. Outputs remain reviewed by agronomy experts.

Pilot

Dashboards and optimisation loops

KPI tracking, post-launch monitoring and optimisation plans turn farm operations into measurable cycles rather than isolated consulting reports.

Projects delivered across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, North America & Asia

Operating from Paris with engagements in France, Italy, Qatar, China, Spain and beyond to prove systems in extreme climates and dense cities alike.

Answers to common questions

Who is Crop Urbanis?

Crop Urbanis is run by Ilia Sukhodolov, a plant scientist and international consultant specializing in vertical farming, hydroponic greenhouses, and sustainable agriculture. The mission of Crop Urbanis is to help businesses, institutions, and individuals create efficient and resilient food systems adapted to modern challenges.

Do you only work on vertical farms and greenhouses?

Not only. We design and optimize production in vertical farms, greenhouses, hybrid/retrofitted spaces and compact urban sites. Typical locations include restaurants and bars (on-site herbs & microgreens), hotels and resorts, corporate and school cafeterias, universities & research labs, hospitals, supermarkets/dark stores, community centers and NGOs, logistics warehouses, rooftops and basements. If a space can safely host utilities and basic climate control, we can adapt a system to it.

How can Crop Urbanis support my project?

From idea to operations: feasibility and crop/system selection; layout and technology recommendations (hydroponics, lighting, fertigation, water reuse/purification); crop production protocols & SOPs; plant nutrition programs; integrated pest & disease management; yield, quality and cost optimization; team training; remote/onsite supervision; business modelling and CAPEX/OPEX planning for investors.

What crops do you work with?

Lettuce & leafy greens, tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, eggplant, culinary herbs, saffron, mushrooms, edible flowers, and fodder/microgreens. We’re crop-agnostic—if you grow it, we’ll tune the system for it.

I'm not in Paris, can you still help me?

Yes. We support clients remotely and on-site across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, North America and Asia with consulting, training, and project supervision.

Who might need my service?

Agribusinesses and growers; hospitality groups (hotels, restaurants, bars); retailers and food brands; universities & research institutions; NGOs and development programs; municipalities & community projects; and investors/founders planning new farms. Early engagement reduces risk and saves costs.
